Welcome to the Souvenir Press blog.
We are an independent publisher specialising in non-fiction, established in 1951.
Souvenir Press started in the bedroom of a London flat belonging to the parents of managing director Ernest Hecht. 61 years on and we are still as independent as when we first saw the light of day.
Our lists have always been a hugely eclectic mixture of bestsellers and books intended for more limited audiences. Along the way of our six decades we have introduced Rock and Roll publishing to Britain, published several winners of the Nobel Prize, published pioneering titles on sex education, feminism and dyslexia… and of course managed not to lose our sense of fun along the way!
